Wednesday Devotional

This will be brief today. It's actually 12:30 in the morning, and even I am tired.

Tonight at church we had this diverse gathering of people at St. Andrew. The scouts had filled the fellowship hall with, well, scouts, the church council was meeting, and the new outreach team was meeting. It was one of those nights where you saw all this activity. We are indeed Better Together.

After the council meeting, several of us sat around and talked about the difficulty of the economic times that are around us. Some of the conversation was about the church budget, others talked about an increase in homeless families calling the church for help. There was this keen awareness of our role as a Spiritual community in doing what we can to reach out and connect both tangible and spiritual resources to people in need.

Action Plan: How about bringing an extra canned good or two into the church this week to support our food pantry?

I am pleased to hear of this discussion on the economy and how this is effecting the lives of people. Let's think out of the box as to what we can do about it. With God, there are no boundries as to what we can accomplish
