Day 15 Better together Devotional

You'll notice that the post below contains an ad from Starbucks. If you vote, you get a cup of coffee on Nov 4.

SO what does this have to do with 40 Days of Community?

Actually, a lot. First off, I'm a big fan of Starbucks, but not just Starbucks, Brewed Awakenings, Village Bakery, Dave's coffee by the gallapagos store, etc. Why? Cause in our non-community building society, these places have become places to hang out, talk with people, discuss, read and just be. These places help build community. One of my fantasies for St. Andrew is to open a coffee shop. I like Dave's as a model, only with Village Bakery baked goods. Why would a church open a coffee shop?

Well, first off you'd connect with a younger crowd of people. Second, you'd build community. Third, you'd probably create some jobs for people.

"Since we are all one body in Christ Jesus, we belong to each other and each of us needs all the others." Romans 12:5b

You know it's quite amazing the number of passages in the New Testament that use the phrase one another. It's as if this Christian faith is all about one another.

Idea: Buy a cup of coffee or tea for someone and invite them into community
