Many of you may be familiar with the Right brain-left brain theory. One side is more creative and the other is more analytical. Truth is we all use both sides of our brain, well most people do. You may have encountered a few who..... never mind.
Anyway, each person also has a preference for using one side more than the other.
At my recent Continuing Ed event this past week, one of the things i learned was that because our culture is so dominated by images - aka, TV, computer screens, movies, video on cell phones - we are going to have to radically reshape the way we in the church communicate the gospel. Just as the Gutenberg printing press changed the way people learned, so to the TV world is changing the way we take in information.
We think in images, dream in images, learn in images.
Does this mean we throw out analytical thinking? Absolutely not.
But it does mean we need to embrace new ways of telling the story of Jesus.
I put the image above on this page to help you remember what I wrote in words.

Bring it on Pastor Jim!
When we cease to embrace new ways of learning, or at least evaluate new ways of learning, we become dead in mind, body and soul
