This Sunday, we'll receive a special offering for victims of the Iowa Flooding. Kenny & Laurie Piquette, partners at St. Andrew, are in Iowa. They left today, and flew into Cedar Rapids. They will be working in Butler County. If you'd like to support their work, all of the funds raised will go directly to victims of the flooding, and Laurie will make sure of that. We've also applied to Thrivent Financial for matching funds.
You can mail a check to the church St. Andrew Lutheran Church, PO Box 1259, Charlestown, RI 02813

GOD BLESS ST ANDREWS PARISH and KEN AND LAURIE PIQUETTE. My family was where Ken and Laurie landed in Butler county. WHAT a blessing.
We would like to thank each and every one that donated. When things were looking very bleak, out of the blue show up Ken and Laurie.
Thank you hardly seems like enough. I will keep you posted on our progress.
God bless you

I want to thank Kim, Keith and family for the opportunity to serve after their home was flooded. Despite losing almost all of her material items, Kim's upbeat and friendly manner was just an inspiration to me. Once again I have been able to put my life into perspective and have received so much more than I have given.
The electrician stopped by this morning, yes Sunday morning, thats how crazy things are in Iowa some are working 7 days a week.
Anyhow, we will be rewiring the whole house, I was in hopes that we could just add some outlets (shows how much I know about electricity) But for safetys sake we will be doing the whole house and adding outlets and getting rid of the old icky wire that is old, old, old.
He will be able to get started the middle to the end of the week. It will be nice to see some things going back together. After he gets done it is dry enough we can start insulating and putting sheetrock back on. We are excited to be putting back together and see our ideas come to shape.(hope they are good ideas LOL)
God Bless

Kim
So glad to hear from you. Laurie & Kenny gave a great talk in church yesterday, and we are keeping you in our prayers.
Pastor Jim
Thank You again St. Andrew and Pastor Jim for your kindness and prayers.
The electrician is done, so tomorrow (Friday) we are going to tear down the ceiling tile in 2 bedrooms and living and dining room. I just decided yesterday we should do that, the tile is 40+ years old and why should we not get it out of there and then every single thing is sheetrocked. It won't take long with 3-4 of us so Saturday I am going to a household auction first and Keith and whoever else shows up for the day will get to insulating and running cable TV wires and then we will be Sheetrocking.
I guess I have come to terms with losing everything and am getting excited about putting it back together. It is just still kind of overwhelming deciding what kind of flooring, and fixtures and what color to paint and cabinets, but I have stepped back and am going to wait until the sheetrocking and spraying is done and then I will figure it out one room at a time as not to overwhelm myself.
As I sit here tonight we are having another thunderstorm, we had one about 3 hours ago, makes my stomach kinda queasy, and just puts me on edge worrying about another flood. I pray that someday that feeling will go away.
Blessings to all.

St. Andrews.
Let me apologize for not updating sooner. Work has slowed up a little bit I work at school and school has resumed so I lose a few hours a day going to my job. We are waiting for a friend to come and spray the texture on all the walls. He will be doing that Monday. Then put down the sub floors and away we go. I am so hoping in a month we can be back home. This has been a long haul and I know I would not have survived without all of your prayers.
God Bless
Kim, Keith and Family
