Remember the Iowa Flood disaster last June. Laurie & Ken Piquette were there to help and they met Kim. We helped rebuild her house, and her life. We recently got the thank you note below. We were able to send her $1,000 in addition to all the supplies we bought. I thought I'd share this note with all of you.

Members of St. Andrews,
My family was truly been blessed when Ken and Laurie happened to be on vacation in Iowa, and came to Greene to one of my neighbors who deferred their help and led them to our home. We thank them and St Andrews in our prayers daily.
I again find it kind of ironic the timing of this check. I stopped and grabbed the mail after work today and there was a wonderful check from your parish. We were headed to Menards to buy ceiling fans, lights for bedrooms, bath and kitchen. The check covered all of that and more. Each time we turn on a light in our home we will be reminded of St. Andrews parish and their light that shines upon us daily.
The walls were all textured and primed on Monday, we have a group of teachers that I work with coming to paint on Saturday, so this week we are concentrating on the subfloor throughout the house. I know this will go at a much faster pace than taping, mudding etc.
I had to special order a bathtub due to only having 57" to work with and that should arrive in 22 days Menards says, my goal is to have everything else done when the tub comes in so we can GO HOME. We never dreamnt when we evacuated the house on June 8 that it would be around 4 months when we would be able to return and live in our house.
Will send pictures tomorrow when I get them taken.
Once again, God Bless you.

Thank You for posting my email. I just want the whole parish to know that we do appreciate everything. I have not sent a picture yet, I apologize for that. But the good news is we moved back home last Sat and Sunday just a couple days shy of 4 months! We just got our appliances today so am testing the washer and dryer LOL. We will finish moving this weekend, mostly clothes and things that were on the walls. I promise when it is organized I will send pictures of the house.
God Bless,
Kim, Keith & Family
